This experimental update focuses on a significant overhaul of the inventory system in 7 Days to Die. Players now have access to a dedicated Backpack equipment slot and new backpack items that can be crafted, looted, or purchased. The base inventory grid has been redesigned to an 8x6 layout, providing more initial space than the legacy version, while high-tier backpacks can double the total carrying capacity to 96 slots. To manage the added weight, existing systems like the Pack Mule perk and Armor Pocket Mods have been integrated into the new encumbrance mechanics.
