Summary
The Reckoning
Stellaris 4.3 'Cetus' enters Open Beta with a primary focus on scaling back economic and naval power creep. Internally dubbed 'The Reckoning,' this update fundamentally alters how fleets are constructed and how empires manage their resources and populations.
Naval Overhaul
Ship Naval Capacity usage has been significantly increased across the board. Corvettes now require 5 capacity, while Battleships require 40, representing a roughly 5x increase for most ship classes. To compensate, base naval capacity has been increased to 40, and Frigates have received significant buffs to speed and utility to find a more distinct role in the new meta.
Economic Rebalance
Job efficiency and stability bonuses have been slashed across the board to make planetary management more challenging. Research output from jobs has been reduced, though this is offset by a 50% reduction in overall technology costs. Unemployment has been streamlined with immediate strata demotion, and Empire Size mechanics have been adjusted to favor fewer, more developed colonies.
