Summary
Map Selection Returns
PUBG is reintroducing map selection to regions previously limited to random matchmaking. This change addresses long-standing player feedback regarding the inability to choose preferred maps or avoid specific ones, prioritizing player agency over matchmaking pool consolidation.
Regional Availability and Schedule
The update will be implemented on PC following maintenance on May 13 for NA, SA, EU, and RU. Console players in NA, EU, SA, and APAC will receive the update on May 21.
System Details and Monitoring
Players will have access to 5 map slots. While the initial lineup follows the current rotation, developers will adjust the pool based on selection data and matchmaking health. If queue times become unstable or bot ratios increase significantly, region-specific adjustments or a reversion to random matchmaking may occur.
