Inventory Slot Rework

The core of Update 2.8 is a fundamental shift in how Hunters build their loadouts. The traditional Small, Medium, and Large weapon slot system is being replaced by a numerical Size system (1-5). Players have a base capacity of 5 points to distribute between two weapons, allowing for more granular balancing between carbines (Size 3) and full-sized rifles (Size 4). The Quartermaster trait has been updated to increase this capacity to 6.

Equipment Flexibility

Tool and Consumable slots are no longer separate. They have been merged into 8 universal Equipment Slots. While this allows players to bring more of one type (e.g., extra traps instead of tools), a new restriction limits players to a maximum of 4 consumables per category (Throwables, Placeables, Shots, and Tarot Cards) to prevent item spam.

Ammo & Balancing

A new Special Long Ammo category has been introduced for modern long-ammo rifles, separating them from the standard long-ammo pool. Additionally, several weapons have seen ammo pool adjustments, and high-tier custom ammo types like Dumdum and Spitzer will now be significantly scarcer.
