Summary
Naval Balance Overhaul
This beta update focuses heavily on naval mechanics, specifically targeting fuel efficiency and engine performance. Most heavy ship and carrier hulls have seen significant reductions in fuel consumption, making large fleets more sustainable. Additionally, naval dominance factors for capital ships have been increased to better reflect their strategic value.
Engine & Submarine Rework
Ship engines have undergone a massive rebalancing. Submarine engines now provide visibility reductions, while cruiser and heavy ship engines are generally cheaper to produce. However, heavy ship and carrier engines now consume more fuel, creating a trade-off between hull efficiency and engine power. Nuclear submarines also received significant buffs through doctrine updates.
Combat Logic & UI
Critical fixes have been made to screening efficiency, which now scales with its value rather than being a binary check. The UI has been improved to show 'Hit Profile' stats in the Ship Designer, providing players with better data on how likely their ships are to be hit by various attack types.
