Summary
Reloading Redesign
Counter-Strike 2 has fundamentally changed how reloading works. Previously, leftover bullets were returned to a global reserve pool. Now, reloading drops the current magazine and discards any remaining ammunition inside it. Reserve ammo is now tracked by the number of magazines rather than individual bullets. Most weapons default to three reserve magazines, though some have been adjusted to reward precision or encourage suppressive fire.
Competitive Map Guides
Players can now access Map Guides during the first five rounds of each half in Competitive matches. These guides provide quick reminders for utility and tactics. Official guides are available for all Active Duty maps, and players can also subscribe to community-created guides via the Steam Workshop.
Custom Games & Social Features
Joining friends in custom games and Workshop maps is now significantly easier. A new 'Open Party' toggle in the Workshop Maps tab allows players to host games locally on their machines. Friends can then join these sessions directly through the Steam Friends list.
