Summary

War Thunder is introducing a new proximity-based reward system to recognize "Maneuver Kills." This mechanic addresses situations where enemy aircraft crash or bail out during a dogfight without having taken direct damage.

Proximity Reward Mechanics

Under the new system, the nearest player within a 3km radius of an enemy aircraft that crashes without damage will receive a destruction credit. This credit includes Silver Lions, Research Points, and mission score, though the total reward is reduced by 50% compared to a standard kill. Tracking missiles also possess their own 3km proximity radius; if no player is within 3km of the crashing enemy, the missile's proximity will be used to award the credit to the firing player.

Mode Availability and UI

The mechanic will be enabled across most game modes, including Air, Ground, and Naval Arcade/Realistic battles, as well as Ground Simulator battles. However, it will be disabled in Air Simulator Battles. Players can track these events through new entries in the end-of-battle log.
