Summary

4.5 ‘Cygnus’ Open Beta

The headline change in the 4.5 update is a complete rework of how Pops interact with Ethics and Factions. Instead of Pops being divided into single-ethic groups, each group now contains a percentage-based distribution of ethics and faction alignment. This is a breaking change that will not preserve save game compatibility. Additionally, the game now runs natively on Apple Silicon for macOS users, and new Fleet Doctrine policies allow for deeper control over automated ship designs.

4.4.5 ‘Pegasus’ Live Update

This update focuses on the Nomadic playstyle and galaxy customization. A new Resource Abundance slider allows players to fine-tune resource density from 'Scarce' to x5. Nomadic empires receive a significant overhaul to Operational Reserves, which now scale with Arkship count and tier rather than a fixed cap. Fleet automation has also been expanded with granular per-action settings for Arkships and Construction ships.
