Summary

Stable Release 42.21

Project Zomboid Build 42.21 has transitioned from the Unstable beta to the Stable branch. This update primarily focuses on resolving critical zombie behavior bugs that affected high-population games and refining the visual behavior of the new XXL trees introduced in Build 42.

Zombie & Environment Fixes

The developers have addressed significant issues where zombies would duplicate in multiplayer or vanish when players moved between world chunks in both single-player and multiplayer modes. Additionally, XXL trees have received a visibility pass to ensure they don't obstruct players while driving or hide important world objects like houses and furniture.

Technical Updates

Following a security investigation, the loadstring and loadstream Lua methods have been re-enabled for modders and server administrators to restore functionality to various community tools and mods.
