BETACursed Confrontation Part 1 introduces a new Sanctum boss, Thermic Tools, and the Heat Gland resource alongside the announcement of Klei Fest.

- newSanctum Boss: Added a new boss encounter and unique loot drops within the Sanctum.
- newWaymark Compass: Added the Waymark Compass to assist players in navigating Sanctum rooms.
- changeKeystone: Taking the Keystone to the Ancient Gateway now resets the Sanctum.
- newSanctum Chasm: Ropes can now be used on the Sanctum Chasm to create a path back up from the Ancient Archives.
🛠️Items & Crafting(4)
- newHeat Gland: Added Heat Gland as a new drop from Geothermites, used in various new crafting recipes.
- newThermic Tools: Introduced Thermic Tools as a new craftable tool tier.
- newCoals: Added Coals, a new type of trap for defensive gameplay.
- newThermal Balm: Added Thermal Balm, a new healing salve for player recovery.
🌿Creatures & Balance(2)
- nerfPlant-like creatures: All plant-like creatures now burn for a longer duration and take increased fire damage, matching Wormwood's vulnerabilities.
- changeShadow Hands: Shadow Hands will no longer target Night Lights.

- newCurios: Added a mass unravelling feature for duplicate Curios in the Item Collection screen.
- buffAncient Key: The Ancient Key is no longer destroyed when the Ancient Gateway destabilizes; it now pops out instead.
